“I have known Deborah for more than 15 years. During this time I have used her services in both my professional capacity and personally. She has acted for Hollard Film Guarantors in drafting completion guarantees which are very specific contracts for the Entertainment Industry and has recently completed a suite of complex documents encompassing a host of agreements about life rights.  She is incredibly thorough and will not “sign off” until every possibility has been explored.

I have no hesitation in recommending her to Producers in the Entertainment Business.”

“Deborah has worked with Spier Films for over 10 years on multiple different national and international film and television productions and co-productions. She has expertise, not only in regard to Los Angeles based Guilds and US lawyers, but also in regard to the legal and financial matters in the entertainment business in South Africa.

Apart from her expertise and experience, however, Deborah also brings a dedication to her work, and a work ethic, which I have not found before. Deborah and I have spent many a night dealing with US transaction that have gone into the morning hours and there has never been a time she was unavailable. She has often gone well above and beyond the call of duty.

Finally, in her thoroughness, I have always known Deborah has our back covered when it comes to the large transactions we have done together. In our business this invaluable comfort.”

Of the hundreds of entertainment law related matters we have provided legal services for, below are some projects we can publicly disclose:

“What makes Deborah Lazarus a very fine lawyer for representation in the media industries, is that she is extremely thorough, very knowledgeable on the complexities of intellectual property law and understands the constraints and pressure under which creative people, generate work. Debbie constantly makes sure that you are aware of the implications of each step in the legal process, has great talent and expertise in the commercial skills of drafting agreements and has the rare skill of being able to consider both sides of often difficult contested situations and negotiate deals with a practical head but never forgetting who she represents. Her warmth and interest in the arts, adds to a very engaged relationship.”
